Useful Information

If you have received a tour voucher for Glyndwr Vineyard, here is some useful information for you:

  • A vineyard tour begins with a glass of our Welsh vintage sparkling wine. During the winter, we serve our wine from our lovely, cosy, candle-lit barn overlooking the vineyard and in the warmer months, on the terrace.
  • This will then be followed by a personally conducted tour of the vineyard with the chance to meet the Llamas for those that are interested!
  • On your return, we provide a tasty and freshly prepared country-platter using local produce wherever possible. This will include mediterranean vegetable quiche, hot local sausages, rustic breads with a selection of Welsh cheeses and a mixed salad with garden herbs. This will be followed by a delicious dessert.
  • To complement your meal, we will serve you two further Glyndwr wines!
  • Tours typically start at 12:30 and last approximately two hours.
  • If you haven't been to the vineyard before, please follow directions on this map, as using a satnav with our post code takes you to the wrong end of the village.
  • If its wet please bring suitable footwear and a coat.
  • If you have any food allergies or are vegetarian then please let us know at least one week in advance.
  • Please aim to arrive 10 minutes before the start time.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to the vineyard.

Booking Conditions

If you notify us more than one week prior to a pre-booked visit that you cannot attend, we will, where possible, offer you another date of our choice. With less than a weeks notice we cannot, under any circumstances, change the date of your booking. You are welcome to offer the voucher to someone else to take your place so please have someone on standby if you are worried you might not be able to attend on the day.

Best time of year to visit?

We often get asked which is the “best” time of year to come on a tour.

Several guests have told us that a booking in the winter months has given them something to look forward to when the vineyard barn is warm and cosy and a glass of spiced mulled wine goes down a treat.

The gardens start to burst with fresh growth in April, are pretty with spring bulbs in May and the best flower colour comes in June and July. Bunches of grapes start to ripen in August. Don’t be afraid, however, to book for the autumn “mellow fruitfulness” as we have lovely sunny days in September and October when fat bunches ripen on the vines. November and December are great times to enjoy the buzz of Christmas and there is a chance to buy presents as you sample the wine.

Tours are lovely and feature Welsh cheeses and home-cooked meals as well as walks around the vineyard with its star attractions, the llamas!

BBC Countryfile Magazine, voted us one of Top 5 Vineyard Experiences in the UK

Hi Sue and Richard, I would just like to thank you on behalf of Bridgend CSSC for an excellent evening on Saturday. The food was lovely, the vineyard and grounds were fantastic, and the wine was splendid. We wish we had more room in the bus to buy even more delightful wine. Your kindness and welcoming atmosphere made it one of the best trips we have had this year.
Thank you very much again for your hospitality.

Carrie (CSSC Bridgend Rep)
