We often get asked which is the “best” time of year to come on a tour.
Several guests have told us that a booking in the winter months has given them something to look forward to when the vineyard barn is warm and cosy and a glass of spiced mulled wine goes down a treat.
The gardens start to burst with fresh growth in April, are pretty with spring bulbs in May and the best flower colour comes in June and July. Bunches of grapes start to ripen in August. Don’t be afraid, however, to book for the autumn “mellow fruitfulness” as we have lovely sunny days in September and October when fat bunches ripen on the vines. November and December are great times to enjoy the buzz of Christmas and there is a chance to buy presents as you sample the wine.
“Tours are lovely and feature Welsh cheeses and home-cooked meals as well as walks around the vineyard with its star attractions, the llamas!”
BBC Countryfile Magazine, voted us one of Top 5 Vineyard Experiences in the UK
“Hi Sue and Richard, I would just like to thank you on behalf of Bridgend CSSC for an excellent evening on Saturday. The food was lovely, the vineyard and grounds were fantastic, and the wine was splendid. We wish we had more room in the bus to buy even more delightful wine. Your kindness and welcoming atmosphere made it one of the best trips we have had this year.
Carrie (CSSC Bridgend Rep)
Thank you very much again for your hospitality.”
