About Us

The Oldest Vineyard in Wales

Glyndwr Vineyard is the oldest established vineyard in Wales. The current owners pioneered the revival of viticulture in Wales, establishing Glyndwr Vineyard in 1979, making it the oldest family estate in Wales.

Award winning wine

With the experience of over 40 years playing an important role in the current success and reputation of the vineyard, the owners have built up an extensive network of outlets throughout Wales including Waitrose, the Celtic Manor Resort, Glen-yr-Afon Hotel, and numerous family run delis from St David’s in Pembrokeshire to Wally’s in Cardiff.

Now, two generations are working together blending the vineyard’s heritage with innovation. We are passionate about our home and our surroundings and the important bond between nature and the wine we produce.

Set in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan

Our menagerie of chickens, ducks and wild pheasants roam the vineyard, hedges are left to grow wild to encourage bird life and the vines are treated with organic material.

The adjoining lovely gardens have been open to the National Garden Scheme and there are ponds, woodland areas and orchards containing a number of old British apple trees, which make Glyndwr’s own unique and delicious cider.
