Tours

These are fun and informative. Parties of 12 or more are
welcome throughout the year by appointment.
Everyone is treated to a glass of Glyndwr vintage sparkling wine on arrival
and then conducted on a tour of the six acre vineyard. The secrets of
viticulture are then explained and discussed with the group. This is
followed by a tasting of all our wines.

We always encourage visitors to have something to eat whilst they are
tasting the wines, and meals/snacks can easily be arranged.

Ring to enquire about choosing from:-

  • Tour, tasting and canapés
  • Tour, tasting and a country lunch with local Welsh cheeses
  • Tour, tasting and two course home produced meal using fresh local Welsh produce
  • The Llama Experience. Leave the busy world for a relaxing few hours of serenity while you walk with these enigmatic animals round the vineyard and gardens.  Afterwards enjoy a bottle of wine and a meal of your choice (2 - 4 people only).
  • Prices from only £17.00 per person.

Visitors are also welcome to stroll around the beautiful gardens which
are open under the National Garden Scheme.

Hopefully, the sun will be shining and everyone will be able to sit around
outside sipping a glass of Glyndwr Welsh wine in the heart of the
  vineyard!

RECENT RECOMMENDATIONS

Many of our guests have written (unprompted) and are happy to recommend us.  Here are some examples, received recently:

Hi insight members

what a wonderful time we had yesterday, courtesy of richard & susie at the glyndwr vineyard

such a beautiful location, such a hot summer's day, a very tasty lunch prepared by susie and delicious wines decanted by richard to compliment it all.  mmm, lovely

almost 30 members and volunteers came to glyndwr vineyard for the mid summer outing of the insight club.

richard norris, the jolliest tour guide i have ever met, described the development of the vineyard from the planting of the very first vine almost 30 years ago.  He told us about the various grapes suitable for our climate, the importance of the weather and the highs and lows of running a vineyard.   The produce includes a white, an aromatic wine, a rose, a full bodied red and a sparkling wine to rival the tastiest champagne!

after lunch, some members took coffee on the veranda, while others strolled into the vineyard to touch the young grapes in their baby bunches.  daniel played the paparatzzi  and snapped away for evidence.

our hosts were so attentive, it was like being in a 5 star hotel setting, and we enjoyed the afternoon at a special rate.  Susie then brought out the piece de resistance, jade and dusk, a couple of friendly llamas who tickled and kissed those brave enough to stroke them. Superb.

and a big thanks to our volunteers for helping and guiding etc, we cant do it without volunteers

one little post script, maria picked one or 2 of the vines clean of vine leaves, and promised to make the greek delicacy, dolmades, for next meeting.

are we looking forward to tasting them?

...of course we are

Visit on 7th August 2011

Hi Sue and Richard

I would just like to thank you on behalf of Bridgend CSSC for an excellent evening on Saturday. The food was lovely, the vineyard and grounds were fantastic, and the wine was splendid.  We wish we had more room in the bus to buy even more delightful wine. Your kindness and welcoming atmosphere made it one of the best trips we have had this year.

Thank you very much again for your hospitality.

Kind regards,

Carrie (CSSC Bridgend Rep)
